Asturias, golf between the mountains and the sea

There is a place where you can play golf in exceptional natural surroundings, with courses ideal for all different levels, just a few kilometres apart, set in stunning landscapes. We are talking about Asturias, a region where the mountains meet the sea, offering a host of possibilities to visitors

In the north of Spain, between the Cantabrian sea and the spectacular Picos de Europa National Park, you will find Asturias. This region offers a host of attractions and things to do, one of which is golf. Clustered around a small number of towns and villages there are many different courses to be found.

They offer a range of difficulties, course-routes and sizes (9- and 18- hole). All their facilities are perfectly adapted to the natural surroundings, which include stunningly beautiful beaches and mountains, and where the presence of nature can be felt through and through.

More and more people are coming to Asturias to play golf every year. In addition to the varied, spectacular landscapes of the region, there are other attractive factors, such as the proximity of the different courses, the good communications between Oviedo and Gijón, where most of the clubs are to be found, the magnificent infrastructure in place throughout the region, as well as the array of complementary leisure and services facilities available, including many other outdoor activities.

Not forgetting that there are facilities ideal for all different player levels and needs, with practice and teaching areas also available. You can even find these types of facilities in small, welcoming villages such as Llanes, Ribadesella, Tapia de Casariego and Villaviciosa, where there are excellent places to play golf offering more than acceptable value for money

The wide range of golf courses to be found in such a small area makes long journeys unnecessary. This region is ideal, offering golfers a variety of courses, most of which are in peaceful, green valleys with an abundance of autochthonous tree species and beautiful views to the mountains and the sea. Fun and entertainment are guaranteed, thanks to modern facilities and a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere.

Nevertheless, Asturias is much more than just golf. Here you will find first rate historic-artistic heritage, delicious cuisine, unique countryside ideal for hiking, biking and other open-air activities, fast-flowing rivers for swimming and fishing, spectacular coastline, with sandy beaches and cliffs, folklore and entertainment in Asturias' cities, towns and villages… There are endless reasons to visit the region.
